Happy Halloween everyone, while we await good news of Gale!

Happy Halloween everyone! Have a good time! :)

So, apart from the good time everyone is going to have tonight "trick or treating", it's also, hopefully, the day Gale makes a large stride towards his complete recovery from his bike accident 18 days ago. I suppose we'd better not count our chickens until we actually have confirmation that he has indeed escaped from the hospital, but I am, along with you lot I'm sure, keeping everything crossed that he is well enough today to make it home.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usI'm sure that going home will be a big lift to his spirits and towards getting back to full health and fitness. There's nothing like being in your own home surrounded by friends and family who are all rooting for you, I've experienced it myself. So, come on Gale, we're still all praying for you. Get well and come back to us soon!

New Gale update!

A new email has been sent from the usual DH source. I have mixed feelings about the contents, but I do so hope that Gale heals well and comes back to us soon! Anyway, here's the email:
Gale is continuing to progress but the anticipated time of healing may take a bit longer than initially hoped for. Image Hosted by ImageShack.usHe will be released from the hospital on Friday and will have friends and family staying with him for at least a month to aid in his rehabilitation.  His medical team, friends and family will work on the cognitive therapy to help rebuild his memory.  He's walking well, and healing nicely and anxious to return to his home.  His shoulder will take 6-8 weeks to return to full function.  His parents will remain through this week.
The term "cognitive therapy" is really worrying to me. This is a little about "cognitive" in case anyone isn't sure what it entails:
...this description tends to apply to processes such as memory, association, concept formation, language, attention, perception, action, problem solving and mental imagery.
The news that it's going to take longer than first expected doesn't really surprise me. Do you remember in those first few days after the accident there was much mention of him being back to normal in "a couple of weeks"! I suppose all of us in our hearts were doubtful that "critical" and "brain swelling" went hand in hand with a healing period of "a couple of weeks"! No such luck because this is reality folks.

In the usual way of these things, little trickles of information are emerging and it's now becoming obvious that this isn't going to be a walk in the park for Gale, it's actually going to be a long, hard haul back to fitness. So let's try and stay positive for him and keep believing that he's going to be fine, spectacular in fact! Keep him in your thoughts and up the strength of those prayers! Let's get him well and let's do it quickly! :)

New promo for Desperate Housewives episode 6 plus lots of other stuff! (SPOILERS)

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usAfter the way episode 5 ended I'm finding myself counting the days until we see the next one! Poor widdle Jackson suffering at the callous hands of Susan like that! Shame on her!

Although after giving it some thought, I wonder how we so quickly got from Jackson asking her when she was going to let him stay overnight, Susan hiding him from her friends and son, to him suddenly teaching her son to ride his new bike in full view of the neighbours, attending a party at her house, presumably as her lover not her decorator, and assuming that their relationship was at the point of him moving in, or at least "going that way?" Seems to me the writers of Desperate Housewives are the same crowd they had writing Queer as Folk. Half the time you have no idea how two characters have actually arrived at a certain point in their relationship, or whether they are even HAVING a relationship, with absolutely nothing shown on screen or even alluded to!

Okay, judging by the stunned silence, I guess everyone else is as much in the dark as me! Something which will bring a welcome smile to everyone's face then, is Susan suffering a little next week by the look and sound of this scream and I guess it's sure to be something poor widdle Jackson has done wrong again or, if not actually wrong, then at the very least something Susan wasn't expecting from him! ;)

Anyway here's the promo, enjoy:

So the fireworks are going off thick and fast and very, very loudly all around me at the moment! It's Diwali, of course, and we have a large Asian community here, where the followers of Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Jainism all celebrate the victory of the good or light over the evil or dark inside every human being. A very worthy thing to celebrate, but the trouble is I can't help but feel so very worried about all the animals around here, both the wild and the few tame little stray cats, including my favourite Rufus, a little disabled orange tom, who come into my garden every day for a bit of food. I hope they've all found somewhere safe to hide away from all the noise and the cold (it's very cold here tonight) and that they're all okay. :(

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usBtw, I forgot to mention this the other day, but you still have a few days in which to register your vote for Barack Obama! Come on people it's fun, and it's the only way you can vote in the US Presidential Election - well, not the REAL one of course - if, like me, you don't actually live in the US. It's interesting to see how the rest of us in the world see this election and the two candidates. Your vote won't count except to show those silly Americans who vote for the other guy that we think they're WRONG! ;)

Lastly, the fabulous Fluffy Ratbag has updated his journal! Hilarious! Go give him a read, I'm sure you'll enjoy it! Can you tell I love me some cats!

A little info on the "bad" news of yesterday.

I did a little research about the ominous sounding "ruptured eardrum" and it's apparently not as bad as I first thought. Here's what the Mayo Clinic has to say about it:

A ruptured eardrum is a tear or a hole in your eardrum (tympanic membrane), the thin membrane that separates your ear canal from your middle ear. This membrane vibrates when sound waves strike it, starting the process of converting sound waves into nerve impulses that travel to your brain. A ruptured eardrum (also called a perforated eardrum)interrupts the hearing process and may impair your hearing.

The eardrum also acts as a barrier to keep outside material, such as bacteria, from entering your middle ear. When you have a ruptured eardrum, bacteria can more easily reach your middle ear and cause infection.

A variety of factors can cause a ruptured eardrum. These include a prior infection, injury and noise. Most ruptured eardrums heal within a few weeks without treatment. If the tear or hole in your eardrum doesn't heal by itself, you may need treatment.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usSo, it looks like, with a little rest and some luck, it will heal without any further treatment. This is good news! As a hearing problem for anyone is a serious thing, but for an actor I would have thought it could be a huge problem, especially on stage. Let's hope Gale's injuries all heal fully... and quickly!

As I said yesterday, he must have really given his head a bashing when he came off that bike! The more I hear about this accident, the more I realise exactly how lucky our boy has been! And how lucky we are to still have him around!

You're still in our thoughts and prayers, Gale. Get well soon!

Oh, and the photo (from the lovely LazyShades' site Fan-Girl.net) was inspired by a discussion, about Gale's nipple hair of all things, on Gale's IMDb Message Board. Very nice isn't it? The photo I mean... okay, AND the nipple hair! ;)

Some good news... and some bad!

There is some very, very good news tonight, sent via email from the usual source of information:
Image Hosted by ImageShack.usThe good news continues. Gale has moved into a rehabilitation room. It is hoped that he will be released on Friday. I learned today that he does have a ruptured ear drum so his hearing is adding to the difficulty at the moment. The NeuroPsychologist believes that there will be a full recovery of all functions. His parents are in town for the week. He still tires quickly. His manager believes it best for visitors to wait until Gale is home.
So, not liking the sound of the ruptured ear drum at all, he must have given his head a huge whack when he came off that bloody bike! Being released on Friday sounds very, very good though! Keep getting better, Gale, we're still all thinking of you and praying!

Lastly, I don't know why exactly, but it just tickled me to read that Matt Roush thinks Gale is "surprisingly charming" in DH! Aww!

More Gale news!

This apparently comes from a DH insider!

I'm glad he's getting better in "leaps", but doesn't this kind of suggest very clearly that he was a lot worse than we were originally given to believe!

Get well, Gale, we really do want you around for a long time!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

All very good news today.

Gale has moved into a room, information below.

He is in a great mood, conversational, laughing and playing jokes on his doctors and nurses.

His memory is returning and his friend has described the past 2 days as "leaps".

Still sore in the ribs and shoulder.

He has begun to read emails from those of you who have it (I'm not giving it out :) ).

His parents are visiting this weekend so be aware that he will be busy and most likely tired.

We'll be sending something from the company.

Headline from the BBC!

More on the great news about Gale's recovery!

I just wish that Gale's debut headline from the BBC was for his acting! Oh, well it's still a fabulous headline!

Housewives actor making recovery

Gale Harold and Teri HatcherDesperate Housewives actor Gale Harold, who plays Teri Hatcher's on-screen boyfriend, is out of intensive care following a motorcycle accident.

Harold, who crashed his bike in California, is expected to make a full recovery, according to his spokeswoman.

He suffered a fractured shoulder and brain-swelling in the incident and was initially in a critical condition at Los Angeles' USC Medical Centre.

His character, Jackson, has just been seen for the first time on UK screens.

The actor plays a key role in the eighth episode of the fifth series, leading to a situation involving several residents of the fictional Wisteria Lane.

Harold had been filming scenes throughout the week before the accident happened, and was due back on set.

The programme's makers have said they will decide on how to proceed when the actor's condition is clear, but series creator Marc Cherry said at least one scene would have to be rewritten.

Wonderful news about Gale Harold!

This one's nice, except for the dodgy reference to Queer as Folk!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usThank goodness for small miracles: after breaking his shoulder in a vicious motorcycle accident last week, Desperate Housewives eye candy Gale Harold has been released from the intensive care unit at L.A. County - USC Medical Center, reports E! News.

"Gale Harold is out of intensive care and improving daily. A full recovery is expected," said the actor's rep in a statement. "He thanks everyone for their good wishes."

All the women in the Dose.ca offices just breathed a collective sigh of relief - Harold's beautiful body would be a terrible thing to waste.

Soon after Harold's Oct. 14 accident, producers of Housewives assured fans that the 39-year-old actor would not be written out of the show, nor would his hospital stay hinder production.

"It's something they can work around," said inside sources at the ABC dramedy. "Production schedules are changing all the time and they will work it out."

Praise Jebus! Harold's shirtless scenes are what made us start watching again after swearing off the show two years ago. And, come to think of it, they were one of the few reasons we tuned in to Queer as Folk, too. (We swear, his pecs have sexy, hypnotic powers.)

Update on Gale!

On the surface this sounds like good news about Gale, but knowing how private Gale is and what the bureaucracy in hospitals is like with regard to patient confidentiality, this isn't much to go on.

Still, keep him in your thoughts, people, and keep sending those healing prayers!

Get well, Gale, we love you!

Gale Harold is improving after suffering serious injuries in a motorcycle accident.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usOfficials at L.A. County USC Medical Center say that the Desperate Housewives star, who was injured on Tuesday, is under observation in the intensive care unit. He had swelling on the brain and a fractured shoulder but is expected to recover.

Officials added that he will be transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center when a bed becomes available.

Gale plays the boyfriend
of Teri Hatcher’s character on the ABC show. On Wednesday Housewives executive producer Marc Cherry said his writers are reworking one scene to cover for Gale while he recovers.

“We’re hearing he’s going to be fine, but he’s going to be recovering for a couple of weeks,” Marc told the press.

Really good news about GH!

Here's some really good news from Ted Casablanca. It's also so nice to know that Gale is so well liked. What a great bloke he must be! :)
From Ted Casablanca:

Good News 'Bout Gale

Wed., Oct. 15, 2008 3:52 PM PDT by TED CASABLANCA

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usWhat with some tabloids saying pro pretty boy and Desperate Housewives star Gale Harold is at death’s door, we got very, very concerned. As Gale is a very nice chap on top of being one of my faves, remember, in Queer As Folk.

Checked in with a super good bud to Gale, and got the skinny: “He's going to be OK,” the amigo insisted about Harold, who spilled on his motorcycle in Hell-Ay. “They're keeping him in the ICU because of the head injury, but he's expected to make a full recovery,” assured the Harold bud.

Good to know that what G.H.’s publicist is saying is actually accurate, as you know how this column feels about statements from such ilk. We prefer the crowd that actually hangs with these people. Don’t you?

Heal fast, Gale!
Yes, heal very, very fast, Gale!

More on the horrendous news about Gale!

Such terrible news circulating about Gale at the moment! I'm hoping and praying that he'll be okay and have no lasting effects from this! I'm crying! This is from E-Online:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usScary news: Hospital sources confirm that actor Gale Harold is in the neurosurgical intensive care unit at County-USC Medical Center, reportedly in "stable condition."

According to TMZ, Harold was hospitalized after a motorcycle accident. I'm told we can expect an official statement from his reps around noon Pacific time.

Gale Harold plays Jackson, Susan Mayer's (Teri Hatcher) new man, this season on Desperate Housewives. He also has a huge cult following among TV fans from his days on Showtime's Queer as Folk.

Story developing...check back for updates.

And this article from WGNtv in Chicago says that the California Highway Patrol has no information about the accident. So unless it was reported to the LAPD, no police were called apparently. Here's the article:
'Desperate Housewives' actor Gale Harold injured in motorcycle accident

By DERRIK J. LANG

LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Gale Harold was in critical condition Wednesday after the "Desperate Housewives" actor crashed his motorcycle the day before, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Harold was awaiting further tests at USC Medical Center, spokeswoman Adelaida De La Cerda said. She gave no further details on his injuries.

Publicist Nancy Seltzer said Wednesday that Harold fractured his shoulder, and "Housewives" creator and executive producer Marc Cherry said he apparently has swelling on the brain but is expected to recover.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"We're hearing he's going to be fine, but he's going to be recovering for a couple of weeks," Cherry said.

Selzer said no one else was injured, but did not provide further details on the Tuesday wreck, which was first reported by TMZ. The California Highway Patrol said it had no information about the accident.

Harold plays Jackson, the boyfriend of Teri Hatcher's character Susan Mayer on the ABC show. The character plays a pivotal role in the fifth season's eighth episode, a November sweeps instalment which finds several Wisteria Lane residents trapped inside a nightclub fire.

Cherry said Harold had been filming scenes all week for the episode and had been scheduled to be on set Tuesday. He said they would await the actor's prognosis before deciding how to proceed, but that at least some changes would have to be made.

"We know we're going to rewrite one scene," he said.

Keep praying for him.

TMZ reports Gale in "critical condition" after accident!

This is so horrible I just don't want to believe it! How did this happen? I hope he's going to be okay.
"Desperate Housewives" in Critical Condition

Posted Oct 15th 2008 2:28PM by TMZ Staff

We've learned Gale Harold, the actor who plays Teri Hatcher's boyfriend on "Desperate Housewives," was seriously injured yesterday in a motorcycle accident. Image Hosted by ImageShack.usAnd, contrary to what Harold's rep says, a hospital spokesperson just told us the actor is in "critical condition." He's being treated at the L.A. County - USC Medical Center in the Intensive Care Unit. We're told his shoulder was screwed up. Harold's rep just issued a statement saying his shoulder was fractured and he's in "stable condition," despite what the hospital rep said. And the slightly ominous words from his rep -- "Everyone is hopeful for a full recovery."

"D.H." creator Marc Cherry says Harold has swelling of the brain but is expected to recover.

BTW, Harold also starred in "Queer as Folk."
Please God, let him get well soon!

Fabulous article from Susie Bright!

The Internal Clitoris— What a Woman's Cock Really Looks Like

If you told a man that his "penis" was nothing more than the head of his cock— his "glans"— he would laugh in your face.

If he pitied you, he might tell you that there was an important aspect to the penis called the shaft, also the frenulum, and perhaps a foreskin. His scrotum and balls are part of the essential package as well.

Women's anatomy education, on the other hand, has been a giant exercise in vacancy. Until recent times, we've been schooled that the clitoris— the female analog to the penis— is nothing more than the small glans one can see on the outside of the vulva.

Start laughing.

Women have a big, big, clitoral body— but it's nearly all on the inside, instead of the outdoor plumbing that's viewed so easily on men.

The reason you hear so much about the "g-spot," and controversies over whether women are excited by internal anal or vaginal pressure, is because those areas are all means to massage, and stimulate, the internal clitoral body. The g-spot isn't some extra accessory; it's just one of many inches on the clitoral map.

Remember: the whole clit, and nothing but.

Of course, the female clitoral glansis the super-sensitive part, just like a man's. But in the same way that men like to have their entire penises taken into account when they're aroused, women are favored by attention to their entire clitorises.

When I present this information in public, I am hampered by my lack of rendering skills. Now, finally, I have the genius of Betty "Quick Draw" Dodson to show you what's it's all about.

The next time someone asks you, "Where's the clitoris? What does it look like? How do you know where to find it?" — you simply come over here, and press play.
