Another update on Gale from Scott's website!

Scott has posted a small update on Gale on his website. A really lovely little note about Gale's progress. Sounds like he's amazed at the number of messages we've all sent to Gale! :)

Here's what he wrote:
...Finally, to the (what seems like) hundreds of you who have written in with questions or messages of support for Gale please know that he continues to thrive and heal. The rapidity and amazing degree of his recovery has been truly miraculous and I have no doubt that your good wishes and energy sent his way have aided in this. So thank YOU ALL. I wish you the very best of Holiday cheer.

Peace!

Scott

Thank you so much, Scott, for keeping us updated! Count yourself lucky that out of the THOUSANDS there are of us, only "what seems like" hundreds actually wrote to you asking about Gale! The rest of us went via the Desperate Housewives address to send our best wishes, so it could have been a lot worse! ;) Anyway, it's really wonderful to know that you all made such lasting friends during Queer as Folk and that you and Gale are still close!

All our love and best wishes, Gale, and Scott too!

Russell T. Davies, OBE!

Russell T Davies got his OBE today for services to drama. Although most people revere him for his resurrection of Dr. Who, I will always thank him not only for that great show, but for bringing the fabulous Queer as Folk into my life!

I remember being absolutely stunned by the raw content and fabulous acting when Queer as Folk first hit our TV screens here in England in 1999! What a gritty, down and dirty look at queer life that was! Of course, the very, very best thing happened when the show was picked up in the US and remade with the beautiful Gale Harold and the gorgeous Randy Harrison being cast as Brian and Justin! The pairing of these two actors was just magical! The chemistry between them absolutely explosive and I, and many others, have loved the characters, the actors and Queer as Folk for over eight years now and the love is as strong as ever!

So, congratulations Russell, you're a brilliant writer and you thoroughly deserve this honour!

Russell T. Davies receives OBE

The writer, who revived the cult BBC show Doctor Who in 2005, collected his award for services to drama from the Prince of Wales today.

Davies revealed in October that the Prince had declined an offer to cameo in Doctor Who, saying: "He turned us down, the miserable swine."

The 45-year-old Welshman, who will step down as Who's lead writer and executive producer next year, has also written Queer As Folk, Casanova and The Second Coming.

Sharon Gless asked about Gale.

So, Sharon Gless was interviewed a few days ago for the Windy City Queercast and was asked how Gale was doing after his accident. She said that she hadn't spoken to him, although she had sent him some balloons. She did say that he was "doing fine". She knew this because Scott Lowell apparently visits Gale EVERY DAY and sends Sharon and some unspecified others, presumably other Queer As Folk... um, folk, updates via the internet!

Can I say how much I love Scott! What a great friend he is!

Anyway, here's the link to the podcast of Sharon's interview. If you only want to hear the few words mentioning Gale, then skip the first 2/3rds!

Get better soon, Gale!

Teri talks about Gale on The View.

Teri Hatcher appeared on The View today and, amongst other things, spoke about Gale's recovery and anticipated return to Desperate Housewives after his motorcycle accident back in October. She also spoke of her feelings about the Susan and Jackson story, which she seems to be enjoying as much as I am! :)

You know something, I was never sure whether I liked her or not, but after seeing this she seems to be a really nice woman, which is great to know!

Here's the link to the clip on YouTube. Gale isn't mentioned until about 3:57!

By the way, she is apparently appearing on Letterman this evening. I wonder if she'll be questioned about Gale again? We can only wait and see!

Continue getting better, Gale, we want you back with us before we begin to miss you too much!

Some great news about Gale! (SLIGHTLY SPOILERY for Desperate Housewives)

This is just fabulous news from the usual source!

Terrific news on Gale from his manager Larry. Gale’s progress is excellent. He would like to start driving again, although that is still a ways off, and is now taking lunches and beginning to run lines with friends. We are planning to do his voice over dialogue for 511 in early December. This is all very exciting and very positive. If the healing continues to progress as well over the next month he should be back with us in January.

George W.Perkins
Executive Producer
DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES

So he's itching to get back to driving. This probably means he wants his independence back 'cause he's fed-up with depending on others to drive him about, he wants to do it himself. Impatient little fucker! LOL I have no idea what "taking lunches" means here, but hope it means he's well enough to be going out to lunch with his agent or the folks from DH etc! This is all wonderful progress.

For him to be "running lines with friends" is fabulous, too. This means he's perhaps learning some new scripts for when filming on Desperate Housewives restarts again after the holidays in January! Isn't that a fantastic thought! I'm beside myself with joy! You go Gale!

Continue getting better, Gale, we want you back with us before we begin to miss you too much!

Some thoughts on Gale in "City on Fire" on DH last night!

Well, the first thing I noticed about this episode I suppose is the fact that Gale wasn't in City on Fire as much as I'd hoped, but considering that this was the first episode affected by Gale's accident, that's not so unexpected.

The second thing I wondered about was the meeting, or rather the lack of a meeting, between Jackson and Susan's daughter, Julie. I may well be imagining this, but I'm sure I read some weeks ago that upon this meeting Jackson liked Julie and she really liked him. I wanted to see this, don't ask me why, but it could be because we haven't really seen ANY of Jackson's meetings with people important to Susan. Well, apart from Mike and MJ. *sigh*

Another thing, the third I suppose, that left an impression on me was the fact that Marc Cherry presumably thought it important for Gale's part in the show to make sure that we DID see (even though it most definitely wasn't GALE!) Jackson escape the bathroom during the fire! I think this was quite telling, considering those other experiences of Jackson I mentioned, that we haven't been privy to! This also answered the question as to whether Jackson was hurt during the fire. Well, he ran towards Susan like a bat out of hell, NOT like a man dying, or even just injured, by smoke inhalation!

Our last view of Jackson and Susan hugging tightly was really beautiful! This also confirms that, although Gale will not be available for filming for awhile, at least until he gets a little better, Marc Cherry did not take the easy way out and have Jackson injured or even killed during the fire.

I enjoyed the episode, Jackson sashaying across the dance floor to whisk Susan off was priceless, but best scene of all was that beautiful mobile face, those lips, those eyebrows and those eyes! Yep, you know the scene I mean! Fabulous, the boy doesn't even NEED words! Well done, Gale!

Okay, so I know a lot of you won't be bothering to watch Desperate Housewives until you have confirmation that Gale is back. However, I have decided to download as usual to keep the story fresh in my mind and to note and squee and write about, for all those who are interested, how many times and in what circumstances the name "Jackson" is mentioned!

Keep Gale in your thoughts!

Gale Harold on DH tonight!

As incredible as it may seem, it's been over a month now since Gale had his horrific motorcycle accident in which he fractured his shoulder and hit his head hard enough to cause him some severe injuries. A month in which we've cried, worried and prayed to whatever God we believe in to help him make a complete and rapid recovery.

It's also been a month in which we've had the bittersweet privilege of watching him week after week making us alternately laugh and swoon as Jackson Braddock in Desperate Housewives. Alas, tonight might well be our last glimpse of him as that wonderfully sweet soul for a while, at least until he's back on his feet, so make the most of it people!

Hurry and get well, Gale, we're all thinking of you!

Okay, so here's a small, but pretty scary, preview of what we're in for tonight! Enjoy!

Ha, just had to add this one:

Rememberance

In Flanders Fields
John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders Fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Fields.

Wow, I love me some Gale in this show! (SPOILERS)

Well, it has come as no surprise to learn that Jackson's passion is art! He's a painter! One who trained in Paris no less with a professor who wore a beret! After all, it was one of the first spoilers we heard about him before the fifth season had even begun! The clever Marc Cherry pulled a fast one on us though by introducing Jackson to us as that other sort of painter, one who was doing up Susan's house! I suppose it would have been a bit difficult getting the two of them together otherwise, as being an artist is a rather solitary existence so, yes, a clever bit of writing.

I must say I loved all the Jackson and Susan scenes in this episode and really loved Gale as the beautiful, romantic, softly spoken Jackson. He became so much more than Susan's bit of eye candy in this episode, he actually became a man with a back story and some depth. This was especially made clear in the scene where Susan, wearing a corset, barges into his studio(?) and finds the painting he's doing of her and Jackson spoke so beautifully about the things he's come to know about her. Great stuff!

On a more superficial note, I loved him in the black shirt with the polka dots on the placket and an embroidered flower on the side, he definitely bought that at the same place he gets his bongs! LOL But oh, I was worried that he wouldn't take the shirt off before he started painting! Ah, but, he did! Which was wonderful as we then got another chance to bask in the beauty of Gale arms! He looked gorgeous throughout this whole episode.

Joking aside, though, what I really liked to see was that the chemistry is getting better and better between Gale and Teri and their scenes this week were of the funny, sweet and tender 'getting to know you' kind. They are really bringing the relationship between Jackson and Susan to life. Such a shame then that we won't really know where they were going to take this, since Gale was unable to finish filming for next week's episode. He will definitely be in it, which should give us a clue as to how they are going to handle Gale being unavailable for a while. This is so sad, just when he was really settling into the role and making it his own.

Please get well and hurry back, Gale!

EDIT: I forgot something. Now that Susan has been to Jackson's place at least three times, once last week when she found the girl in his shower, and twice that we know of this week. What I want to know is where's the bloody dog he said he got just before they got together? Was widdle Jackson telling Susan porky pies, I wonder? Shame if it was just lies, I want to see the kind of dog Jackson would have! :)

Jackson is MY passion, but what's his?

Well, tonight we find out what his true passion is!

Okay so tonight's the night we get our last full glimpse of Gale in an episode shot before, and therefore not affected by, his accident! He will be in next week's episode, 5.08, but we have no idea how his storyline and scenes will have been changed in that episode because he wasn't available for all the filming.

It makes me so sad to think of him hurt, especially as no news is coming out about how well he's doing. Still thinking about him though and still hoping for a full recovery for him.

So this is the synopsis of tonight's episode. I shall be doing my usual "up at the crack of dawn to start the download" thing, so I should be able to see it before reading other people's thoughts. Enjoy it everyone because it really sounds good and we must make the most of seeing Gale in this last couple of episodes, because after these we'll have to wait until he's all well and filming again! :)

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, Sunday, November 9 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET). Lynette and Tom uncover the unsettling truth about son Porter; Gabrielle suspects Carlos' best client has ulterior motives; Bree's moment of weakness could bring her great embarrassment and shame; and Katherine's not so little secret is unveiled. Meanwhile, Susan learns of Jackson's true passion, and Mrs. McCluskey's sister unearths a disturbing fact about Dave.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES stars Teri Hatcher as Susan Mayer, Felicity Huffman as Lynette Scavo, Marcia Cross as Bree Hodge, Eva Longoria Parker as Gabrielle Solis, Nicollette Sheridan as Edie Britt, Ricardo Antonio Chavira as Carlos Solis, Doug Savant as Tom Scavo, Kyle MacLachlan as Orson Hodge, Dana Delany as Katherine Mayfair, Neal McDonough as Dave, Shawn Pyfrom as Andrew Van De Kamp, Brenda Strong as Mary Alice Young, James Denton as Mike Delfino, Charlie Carver as Porter Scavo, Max Carver as Preston Scavo, Joshua Moore as Parker Scavo and Kendall Applegate as Penny Scavo.

"What More Do I Need" was directed by Larry Shaw and written by Matt Berry.

Lovely Randy interview in Paris!

I love that Randy has mellowed so much as far as Queer as Folk is concerned! There was a time when he wouldn't talk about QaF for love nor money!

It's also lovely that his favourite memory of QaF is all the dance classes and rehearsing he and Gale did for the filming of the dance in 122! How wonderful is that! ;)

He's gorgeous too!

Preview of 5.07 of DH and some other stuff.

Just a small preview of the next episode of DH. More Jackson action with some mention of clothes being ripped off with teeth!

We can only be sure of seeing Gale in this episode and the next. He had his accident during the making of 5.08, so unless they can do some splicing of previously taped scenes we probably won't see Gale again until sometime after Christmas. So make the most of these last couple of episodes!

Unfortunately, there is no more news about Gale's recuperation and rehabilitation so we can only assume that all is going well and let's hope that more and more "leaps" are being made! :)

Get well soon, Gale, we need you back here!

Oh, btw, do you remember this where the rest of us in the world had a chance to show how we'd vote in the US Presidential Election. Well guess what, Barack Obama won by a massive margin! He got something like 90% of the votes! I'm pretty sure by what I've seen on TV so far tonight that he's going to win in reality by quite a big margin too! Fanfuckingtastic!

A couple of amusing things!

A little vid of Randy at the QaF/L Word Convention in Paris. He's asked a question which must have really thrilled him!

"What's Gale's phone number?"

It's asked first in French and then translated. (Not that Randy needed it translated obviously.)

His reply, "Um, I'm not going to give that to you!" Randy is soooo cute! Love him. :)

This is part of a question to Matt Roush:
Question: "...regarding Desperate Housewives, you recently stated that you find Gale Harold's performance "surprisingly charming." What drives me crazy about his addition to the show is that he is totally wasted. Again, another great actor given very little to do except take off his shirt and beg for attention. It's also more than a bit odd watching the former "Brian Kinney" being the whipping boy for Teri Hatcher."

Answer from Matt: "...As for Gale Harold: I like the change of pace in making him so sympathetic and vulnerable. He's a supporting player in this ensemble and that's as it should be."

Original Source

Aww, "sympathetic and vulnerable" exactly! Playing Jackson in DH may not be Shakespeare, but at least it's giving Gale the opportunity of showing us something other than Brian Kinney as much as I LOVE that beautiful, arrogant arsehole! ;)

A little more news on Gale and thoughts on 5.06 (SPOILERS).

So, today is turning out to be a lovely day.

First thing this morning I was sitting watching the cuteness that is Jackson in the most adorable scene so far in DH!

Jackson asking Susan out to dinner thereby starting their relationship all over again! Wish he had a bit more screen time, but ultimately it's quality not quantity that we want and this was quality Gale. Love, Love, Loved it.

Of course the really best thing is the news that Gale is home and, we hope, recuperating well and as long as that continues, is expected to return to DH! Here's the email from one of the usual sources:
Hi to everyone!!
Hope that this finds all of you well and happy!

I just want to let you know that now that Gale is back home, we may not be getting many (or any for that matter) updates.

As far as I know, Jackson is still going to be a character on DH, however Gale needs to heal before he can return to work.

They take a break during the Holiday Season and then return until sometime in May before taking their summer hiatus.

So, right now, no news is good news and anything you might read about Gale leaving the show is just rumor now (as my dad has heard nothing different, and he would be one of the first to know about any character changes!!)
Nothing new as far as his health is concerned, except that he is home, but some good news about his future in DH. Apparently, as long as he continues to improve and can get fit enough to go back to work in a reasonable amount of time, it sounds as though his part as Jackson in DH is secure.

We have Jackson to look forward to in two more episodes at least that we know of so let's make the most of them.

Keep getting better and stronger, Gale, and get back to work soon, before we miss you too much! :)

EDIT: Btw, I forgot a couple of things. Was there anyone else who hoped that it was GALE naked behind that shower curtain? And who leaves a one night stand/stranger taking a shower in their apartment to go OUT for the pizza... come on Jackson, let your fingers do the walking! :D

'There's Always a Woman'

So tonight you lucky people in the US get to see episode 5.06 of Desperate Housewives! Me? Well I won't be able to watch it until tomorrow morning (my time). I've got to get up at the crack of dawn, find a torrent and start my download! With any luck I should be watching it around 7.30 a.m.! Please ask me again if I love Gale! :)

Galpout

Anyway, this is the gist of tonight's episode:
"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned," on ABC's "Desperate Housewives," SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 2 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET). Gaby is over the moon when Carlos' client makes them an offer they can't refuse, but a startling discovery leaves her second guessing; Lynette grows suspicious that Tom is cheating on her; and after breaking up with Jackson, Susan tries to surprise him, only to find the surprise is on her. Meanwhile, the bond between Bree and Katherine grows, and Mrs. McCluskey enlists the help of her sister to dig up dirt on Dave.

Guest stars include Kathryn Joosten as Mrs. McCluskey, Gale Harold as Jackson, Gail O'Grady as Anne Schilling, Frances Conroy as Virginia Hildebrand and Lily Tomlin as Roberta.

"There's Always a Woman" was directed by Matthew Diamond and written by John Paul Bullock III.
Looking forward to seeing this! I hope you all enjoy it.

Oh, and I hope Gale's health is still improving! Get well, Gale!

I almost forgot! Happy Birthday, Randy!

Is he still in Paris, I wonder?

Well, I'm sure he's had a fabulous day wherever he is!

No further news on Gale! - (SMALL SPOILER for DH)

Is this one time when we can say for sure that no news is good news? I do very much hope so!

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usI hope he did indeed go home yesterday and that he is being waited on hand, foot and finger by friends and family! I'm sure they're nursing him back to full health and fitness.

It's disappointing that two of the other actors from Desperate Housewives, Marcia Cross and Nicollette Sheridan, did TV interviews yesterday and Gale wasn't mentioned. Don't get me wrong, I'm not surprised there was no mention of him, just disappointed. :(

Hurry and get well, Gale, we need you back on our TVs! :)

Meanwhile we have another episode of DH to look forward to tomorrow night. After breaking up last week, Susan is apparently intent on surprising Jackson at his home. However, she ends up getting an even bigger surprise herself! Can't wait!

Oh, if you want more of the beautiful hairy Gale chest, go here!
